About the MISHPACHAH: Parenting Through Change program

Parenting can be hard, especially when your child is going through significant changes, exploring who they are, experiencing mental health challenges, or moving in a different direction from the one you expected. Communication can break down, and when religion, religious observance, or cultural expectations are also part of the conflict, an already difficult relationship can become even harder to navigate.

MISHPACHAH: Parenting Through Change is a confidential six-week support and skills program for parents who are experiencing challenges in their relationship with their child and are unsure how to move forward. Open to parents from every level of religious observance, the program is interactive, practical, and designed to provide a safe, supportive space to learn, reflect, and connect with others facing similar experiences.

Through the program, parents will have the opportunity to:

* Strengthen communication and family relationships.

* Navigate their own emotions and changing expectations with greater confidence.

* Build confidence in having difficult conversations.

* Develop practical strategies to support their child's wellbeing while maintaining a strong connection.

* Increase their understanding of mental health, family dynamics, and the impact of change.

* Connect with other parents in a safe, confidential, and supportive environment.

* Reduce feelings of isolation through shared experiences, mutual support, and a sense of community.

Cost: $60 for the six-week program.

We don't want finances to prevent anyone from accessing the program. If cost is a barrier, we are happy to discuss options.

Dates: Mondays from 7:30–9:00 PM on 12, 19 & 26 October, and 2, 9 & 16 November.

Location: Local location, available upon registration.

As places are limited, participants are asked to commit to attending all six sessions to gain the greatest benefit from the program and to help build a trusting, supportive, and consistent group environment.
